Why should I use Silicone Hose?

Silicone Hose is extremely durable and looks great. Silicone Hose outperforms standard rubber hose in temperature range, pressure loads and general performance. Many people simply want great looking hoses under the bonnet.

What can I use Silicone hose for?

Silicone hose is designed to carry air and coolant. Standard Silicone Hose is not suitable for oil and petrol.

What diameter should I buy?

Usually we will have the exact tool to make your hose to a specific diameter. If not it is perfectly acceptable to go 1mm either size of your required bore, 2mm on the bigger hoses.

Why should I buy from DPH?

We take great care in manufacturing each hose wether for an individual or large contract customer. We only use the highest grade silicone rubber to ensure each hose lasts and looks great for as long as possible. It is possible that some suppliers use cheaper less durable rubber, with DPH you are guaranteed the best.

What is DPH Sport?

DPH Sport is our own hose brand. Unless otherwise requested all our hoses supplied with our DPH Sport logo. The DPH Sport logo is not only our own branding but also a sign of quality. We take great pride in our Silicone Hoses and are happy to brand them all with our logo.

Where are your hoses manufactured?

All our hoses are manufactured on site at our location in Derbyshire. We take great care and pride in manufacturing the highest quality silicone hoses.

Can I put my logo on your hoses?

This is possible and we are always happy to advise, you can check our Branding Options section for more info. In a nutshell due to the artwork and minimum order quantities involved with producing the transfers this option normally applies to distributors and wholesalers. However please get in touch if you are interested in branding your hoses.

What is the difference between standard and glossy finish?

Standard finish is normally the cheaper option and gives a rough fabric type finish, glossy is generally more expensive and gives a smooth shiny finish. A standard hose is wrapped in a re-usable fabric wrapping before being cured, more popular with customers who require performance without the looks. A glossy hose is wrapped in a non re-usable cellulose tape before being cured, most popular with customers who want performance and great looks.

What different colours are available?

We have access to many different colours, in fact whatever the colour we can probably make it. The hoses listed to buy on this site are by standard blue as this is by far the most popular colour. If you would like to buy a hose with a different colour just use our online order form. For some of the more obscure colours we may need to impose a small minimum order quantity as we may need to buy in the rubber especially.

Can you make special one off hoses?

we are able to make a vast array of hoses many of which we may already have tooling for. If you have a special hose, the costing may depend on tooling if there is not one already available. Tooling costs have to be included in the price depending on quantities. Contact us for more info.

What is the lead time on your hoses?

Unlike many other manufactures we can normally despatch hoses within a couple of days. We don't agree with keeping customers waiting.

How should I clean my hoses?

Some suppliers will recommend using specially formed chemicals to clean Silicone Hoses. In our opinion this is unnecessary and good old soapy water should be sufficient. Avoid using WD40 this could discolour your hose.

How should I cut/trim my hose?

The best way is to take a standard hose clip and place around the hose. Take a nice sharp blade and cut around the clip as a guide. You should get a nice clean finish.

How does your dropshipping option work?

The idea of our dropshipping option is to enable you to sell our Silicone Hoses through your retail outlet or online store without having to invest in any stock. Whenever you sell a product, you simply send your order through to us, once received we ship the product directly to your customer. Our dropshipping prices enable you to make a healthy profit margin on each sale you generate.

Why should I avoid buying Silicone Hose from China?

Unfortunetely Silionce Hose manufactured in China and India are generally of extremely poor quality. We speak to many new customers who have had unfortunate experiences with these suppliers. Hoses imported from China are generally constructed with very cheap rubber which unfortunetely for the buyer means a very short hose life and rapid colour fading.
